COMMISSIONS
Commissioning a portrait painting of your pet is a hassle-free and highly rewarding experience through our site. The step-by-step process from start to finish is outlined below.
Ordering a Portrait Painting
STEP 1. Review prices, shipping rates, time & terms, and the portrait reservation form.
STEP 2. Contact me with any questions or concerns.
STEP 3. Submit the Portrait Reservation Form. It is available via electronic form which submits to me via e-mail.
You can upload one initial photo on the electronic form. I will request further photos, if needed. Hard copy forms may be sent via regular mail with detailed, clear photos of your pets included. Hard copy photos will be returned upon request. Using regular mail adds additional time to the portrait process from start to finish.
STEP 4. When your order reservation and photos are received, I send a commission contract and invoice requesting a 20% down payment. Once you sign the contract and payment is received, I start on your portrait.


Completing the Portrait Painting
STEP 1. Initial composition, sketch and layout are drawn on paper or canvas for your approval. After you review and approve, I begin painting.
STEP 2. At 50-75% completion, I check in with you to make sure you like the developments. Desired changes should be incorporated at this point before continuing with the fine details.
STEP 3. Once the details are finished, you will review and approve before I coat the painting with a finish of protective varnish.
STEP 4. Your custom portrait painting is shipped via the method you choose from our shipping rate sheet. Insurance for the full value of the painting is included in the shipping cost.
